And we wanted to introduce you to some of the people that bring that experience to the table. So this time, meet Leyla – our Breaking News Analyst.
|What is your role here at Media Measurement?
I work as an analyst specialising in our Breaking News service. Over the past 12 months I have written, edited and overseen the creation on concise, daily briefings of the most relevant industry and competitor news for 5 clients across America and the UK.
My priority at the moment is evaluating how we create all our breaking news deliverables and how to continuously improve their quality and value to clients.
What do you most enjoy about the role?
So many fascinating events occur every day across different industries worldwide, and I love being constantly up to date with what’s happening – I have never before felt so informed on current affairs. I also love that I work on such a unique service – no Breaking News deliverable is the same, as they’re all tailor-made for the company receiving them. It’s also rewarding to see how companies can take immediate action on threats and opportunities after receiving briefings I have created.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I’m the epitome of what they call a ‘third culture kid’. Born and raised in Berkshire, I’m half-Turkish, a quarter Palestinian and a quarter Jordanian. Although I spent the majority of my life in the UK, I spent 8 months in Beirut and 3 years attending an international school in Istanbul, Turkey. I received my university degree from Edinburgh. As a result of all this moving around, I have a strange hybrid accent – people have asked me whether I’m from America, the UK, Australia or South Africa.
