Social Studio: January Updates
January is finally over, and we’ve all allayed our January blues – but the one good thing to come out of January was Salesforce’s latest Social Studio release. This was packed with a bunch of great new features and updates, so let’s take a look at how they can help you and your business.
Publish & Engage
Calendar Enhancements: There is now an option to see an ‘overview’ of posts in your calendar. This is handy if you want to read the actual detail of the content of each post when using the Calendar view in Publish.
Improvements to Social Accounts Functionality: Social Studio has added in extra functionality for both Facebook and Twitter which included:
- Facebook: Hide Facebook posts, comments or replies on Facebook from within Social Studio. This will be very useful to rid your page of unwanted customer care issues
- Facebook: Schedule to the Facebook platform from Social Studio, or you can now send to Facebook as an unpublished posts
- Twitter: Improve your visual content by posting gifs and images to Twitter
- Twitter: @mention multiple authors in one post and tag other users in your tweets
- Twitter: Add alt-text images on Twitter for the visually impaired
PDF Post Reports: You can have PDF reports delivered to your inbox whenever suits your schedule, and as often as you’d like, from daily to monthly to keep tabs on how your social media strategy is performing. By making use of the advance filtering, you can ensure you only see the brand mentions and posts most important to you
Top Influencers: Understand your brand’s top social influencers or view the top influencers for a campaign, topic or competition with a new ‘Top Influencer’ card in your Dashboards. There’s the option to sort this by Twitter influencer score and view various metrics or topic posts for any single influencer
Demographics: Better understand who is talking about a topic and learn more about your audience by analysing age, gender and location in Workbenches
BiText Paid Insights: Formerly known as Radian6 Paid insight Partners, you can now use BiText Insights in Workbenches to extract deeper sentiment analysis and use over 16 types of entity extraction to structure your identified data. Pretty cool!
Crisis Management Mode: Social Studio now allows Super Users and Admin Only users to switch on Crisis Management Mode. This will halt all outbound posts for the time it is switched on, so you can focus on the key events as they unfold.
Manage Social Accounts: Organise and report on the social accounts in your tenant using: Name, Social Network, Creation Date, Owner, Workspace or Status.
As you can see, there are some great additions to Social Studio’s capabilities so you can get even more value from the tool – whether it’s publishing more to your social media accounts, gaining more insight from analysis or have more control with admin functions.
